Largest Toy Museum

Posted on Friday 4 November 2005 on 4:47 am

Guys, I would like to say I am ashamed of being Penang guy here (although i was not born in penang) . It is because…

On monday, I was driving to Batu Feringgi to have a walk by the seaside with my friend. Along the road, we noticed a signboard of “TOY MUSEUM” around Tanjung Bungah area and i felt “Toy Museum” sound very familiar. Oh ya, i remembered i saw the name “Toy Museum” somewhere in KL last year, perhaps in SUMMIT if im not mistaken. I guess they are the same.

Toy Museum

Frankly, it is a great place to visit for tourist and any other else. For those Toy Enthusiasts like me, you MUST pay a visit to such Toy Museum. It collects over 100,000 toys, dolls, models and other fun collectibles, etc. Yet, it is the World Largest Toy Museum and the toys were collected since 1973 by Mr. Loh while he was 19. The musuem is about 650s q m floor area. The most expensive toys, which cost RM9000 is a 1.8m tall Gundam Robot from Japan. This Toy Museum not only holds the earlier toys but also display the upcoming or latest toys or figures such as Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” which is showing in Cinema now. Toys of Charlie & Chococlate’s Factory, Batman Begin and etc.

Victor & Corpse Bride

With over 100,000 toys, dolls, models and other fun collectibles, it’s a haven for toy and movie aficionados. “It’s also the largest in the world and the first such museum in Asia” says proud owner Loh Lean Cheng of his baby.

The entrance fee for adult is RM10 and RM6 for children. It is a reasonable price and worth for seeing over 100,000 toys in such special museum. Don’t you think a Toy Museum is rarely found among the world and furthermore it is the largest. Hence, i hope you guys don’t miss this especially Penang guys. hehehe
