i believe many of us know the existence of Skype here. Skype is program that allow user to calls over the internet to anyone else who also has Skype by using VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) technology. And it is “FREE”.
Now Skype bring it’s benefit to mobile phone user as well. Skype just signed its first agreement with one of the mobile operator from German, “E-Plus” which has 9.8 million subscribers now. Next month Skype will deliver its flat-rate services to E-plus and it said that Skype will offer its services on devices such as Motorola.
Skype’s chief executive, Niklas Zennstorm, said the deal brings the “value and convenience” of Skype’s global internet communications experience to millions of mobile phone subscribers. E-Plus said Skype enables its to deliver the advantages of mobile and stationary internet access.
Currently VOIP technology is widely used and Instant Messenger like Yahoo Messenger with Voice, and Google Talk which both are integrated with VOIP that allows voice communication were also just released. As i know, VoIP greatly save our cost for voice communication especially those users who are very far from each other like me in Malaysia and my friends who stay in Australia. I’m very appreciate the invention of VoIP technology and hope to see the great impact of the VoIP in the coming future…
